Grain Facility Assistant Operator

Full-time

This is a full-time position with benefits to assist with operations at our feed and grain mill warehouse in Wilbur.  This is a physically demanding grain operator position involving grain handling and bagging of custom feed blends and rations for livestock feeds while providing excellent customer service to our patrons.  Productivity and working with a sense of urgency is a must.

 Duties:

  • Ability to meet productivity goals.
  • Bagging custom feed blends into 50# and bulk tote bags.
  • Accurate weighing, binning, dumping of incoming grains &  pellets. Prepare documentation associated with grain sales, receiving, and  labeling. 
  • Unloading and loading of custom commodity grain products such as corn, barley, oats, grass screening pellets, alfalfa and pea screening pellets, whole and split peas.
  • Operates bulk feed truck load out equipment and properly sorts commodity product into silo storage bins. 
  • Greet customers and load custom feed blends for customers from warehouse and lot products.
  • Assist with providing product information for feed products
  • Keep warehouse and work area neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Performs general maintenance, upkeep and housekeeping of feed mill and elevator buildings.  
  • Exposure to constant dust or airborne particles to be expected.
  • Frequently exposed to heights up to 40′, outside weather conditions including rain, cold, dust, vibration, climb stairs and ladders.

Qualifications:

  • Feed/grain industry experience preferred.
  • Able to frequently lift 50# bags, bend, stoop, lift, reach, crouch, stand, and climb or balance. 
  • Able to climbing ladders, stairs, and bins.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work conditions.
  • Must be able to work independently, and be self-motivated.
  • Must be detail oriented, with good time management and problem solving skills.
  • Must have excellent communication, both verbal and written.
  • Specific vision abilities required to distinguish color, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.  
  • Must be able to sustain exposure to moving mechanical parts and constant dust or airborne particles.  
  • Must pass drug screen.  

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.  Hours of operation are 8:00am — 5:00pm. Saturday work to be expected.

Cashier

Part-time

This is a part-time cashier position to work for all checkout counters.  This position requires outstanding customer service skills to greet customers and accurately process checkout of customer transactions.  Prior retail experience preferred.

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations. 
  • Be organized with attention to detail.
  • Have a neat and clean appearance. 
  • Be friendly and courteous.
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and co-workers.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

The work schedule will vary from week to week.  We are open 7 days a week and weekend work is to be expected  The position will work 4 to 8 hours per day, 20-30 hours per week. Must be available to work Monday-Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm as well as weekends.

Carry Out

Part-time

This position is responsible for the daily carryout of feed and related products for our customers.  This is a fast paced position that requires constant hustle and attention to detail, a strong work ethic and customer service skills.

Tasks include:

  • Keeping feed decks organized, stocked, cleaned and free of loose debris. 
  • Re-bagging broken and torn bags.
  • Keeping aisles and parking lot clean and clear. 
  • Cleaning of restrooms and emptying garbage cans.
  • Repetitive lifting of weight up to 50 pounds with an occasional occurrence of weights that may exceed 300 pounds.
  • Requires that you be able to stoop, bend, twist, kneel, and have considerable flexibility. 
  • Requires excellent customer service skills as this person has the last contact with our customer.

CONVENIENCE STORE CASHIER

Part-time

This is a part-time cashier position for the Shell Convenience Store to work swing shift from 2:00pm – 10:00 pm.  This position requires outstanding customer service skills to greet customers and accurately process checkout of customer transactions.  Prior cashier and deli experience preferred.  

Requirements:

  • Outstanding customer service skills. 
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently. 
  • Be organized with attention to detail.
  • Have a neat and clean appearance. 
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Must be reliable and have the ability to work a varied schedule.      
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

To work 24-29 hours per week with the schedule to vary each week.  We are open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day including holidays.

WAREHOUSE LOADING CLERK

Part-time

This position is responsible for providing customer service in the back warehouse and garden center while maintaining the inventory of products sold and the upkeep of the appearance of the store.  You must be able to maintain a neat and tidy appearance, a clean work environment, and keep the store neat, clean, and organized. This position requires outstanding customer service skills by greeting all customers in a friendly manner with a smile and a verbal greeting.  Warehouse clerk position loads customer orders and unloads freight trucks.

 Tasks:

  • Load products into customer’s vehicle in a safe and neat method. 
  • Stack, organize, and recover fencing material.
  • Fill, stock, and organize planting mixes, bagged soils.
  • Sweep, clean hay piles and keep neat & tidy.
  • Stack, organize feed pallets in warehouse.
  • Keep feed decks organized, stocked, clean and free of loose debris.
  • Take loading tickets from customers, verify their order, and load the customer.
  • Stock, recovery of baling twine and seed mixes.
  • Pick up debris around parking lot and store, empty trash cans.

 

 Qualifications:

  • Prior forklift experience required.
  • Must be customer service oriented and actively looking for ways to help people.
  • Have the ability to communicate with others clearly and in a polite manner. 
  • Have the ability to work in a group or team atmosphere and enjoy working with others.
  • Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks.
  • Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling obligations.
  • This position requires that a person be on their feet for the entire shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively with occasional moving products that exceed 300 lbs with the use of equipment.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, twist, kneel and have considerable flexibility.

HARDWARE SALES CLERK—Winston location

Part-time

 This position requires applicant to sell products, provide customer service, inventory control, and recovery of shelves including: 

  • Selling of hardware and farm merchandise to our customers. 
  • Ring up, carry out, and load hardware/farm related store merchandise.
  • Sell products, provide accurate product information.
  • Answering questions from customers and answering telephones.
  • Maintain a neat and tidy personal appearance and help keep the store neat, clean and organized.

 Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations. 
  • Know and use resources necessary to make proper recommendations of products sold. 
  • Ability to learn store prices, products and services.
  • Be able to use a computerized point-of-sale system.
  • Maintain product inventory levels to assure maximum service.
  • Arrange merchandise stock displays and shelves.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly store environment.
  • Greet customers in a friendly manner with a smile and verbal greeting.
  • Ability to interact effectively with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to lift, carry, move, and slide 50 lbs frequently.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
